Can ChatShelf read my chats?
No. Everything is saved in your browser's own storage on your computer. ChatShelf has no servers that receive your conversations, and there's no account to sign in to. Uninstalling the extension deletes the library unless you export it first.
Which AI apps does it work with?
ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), Claude (claude.ai), Gemini (gemini.google.com), Grok (grok.com) and Perplexity (perplexity.ai). It saves chats as you use them in Chrome, Edge, Brave or any other Chromium browser.
What about chats from before I installed it?
ChatShelf saves any chat you open after installing. Pro can also import the full history export files from ChatGPT and Claude, so years of conversations land in your library at once.
Where do the leaderboard numbers come from?
From Arena (formerly LMArena), where millions of people compare two anonymous AI answers and vote for the better one. We refresh from their public dataset automatically and show the date of each update.
